Welcome to the University of Manchester School of Computer Science Teacher Support site.

The courses on this site are designed to enable teachers of ICT and Computing to access support and advice from the University academics.

The General ICT Teacher Resources area is currently just for KS3 but this may expand depending on level of interest. If you would like to upload resources to the General Resources area please email (see right) to express your interest.


Moodle logoThe site uses the Moodle VLE and may also be used to store and share resources and to communicate with other ICT teachers and ICT co-ordinators. New users may wish to begin by browsing through the Using Moodle course in the Moodle help category or you could simply explore and refer back to the Using Moodle course when needed.

Schools Animation Competition Launched

AliceAs part of its 2008 celebrations of the 60th birthday of the world's first stored-program computer, the School of Computer Science at the University of Manchester is running a computer animation competition for schoolchildren using the freely available animation software Alice.

To register interest in this competition and obtain your moodle login details, please visit the Alice competition web pages. Once you have successfully logged in, select the Digital 60 Competition category in the course listing to access the Alice competition moodle support site.
